Chris Burr
Chris Burr
Chris just moved his family back to his hometown in London so making the next few 6:30 games could be tricky. He will be missed by all of us except maybe for the pitchers - he holds one of the batting titles going .788 in 2016... Chris has only played 8 years in BOSL but he's been first or second in OBA every year and was selected MVO by his teammates in 2012 and again in 2016. He co-captained with Todd Parker for years and is always on the ballot for the Keith Dunlop Sportsmanship Award each season. Chris won the Andy Smith Award in 2014, 2015 and 2017 and the consolation championships in 2016.

Chris worked hard at charity and making Burlington a better place for all of us - London is very lucky to get him back!

John Rivard

John Rivard
Dear BOSL Members, Just a quick note to thank everyone for being such fantastic teammates and friends over the years. I never took the opportunity to say a proper goodbye at the end of last season, as I was unsure about retirement. Unfortunately my mind said yes, but my body said no, so it’s never a good time, but I believe it is the right time to pack it in and work on my golf game... It was a pleasure playing alongside you all, in the best Old Timers league in Canada for the past 30 years, and I am lucky to take many lifetime friendships with me. Have a great season guys, and I hope to see you when I visit during the tournaments. Yours in baseball, John Rivard.

John Rivard - sponsor (CBBR) for 9 years.

Mike Porkolab
Mike Porkolab
This is Mike's 15th season with us at BOSL and likely his final. He's an All-Star outfielder and used to be a feared HR-hitter. As a player, captain and sponsor of BOSL, he's respected by everyone. Mike won the Dave Little Award twice with his Better Bitters teams in 08 and 11. As President of the league for three seasons 2010-2012 he brought in (or re-defined) SPO tie-breaking rules, and introduced Heat-Outs. I think it rained on most of the tournaments under his watch but to his credit he did bring about the Andy Smith Award, crediting one of BOSL's greatest!

Please introduce yourself to Mike next time you play Jerry's - he's one of BOSLs best people and is usually coaching third.

Richard Krummenacher
Richard Krummenacher
Richard's first year in BOSL he won the championship on Andy Smith's team. Took him another 16 years to win it again. He received his Bob Brown Award in 2007 and in 2017 he was presented the Career Achievement Award for his 25th year in BOSL and he still bats over .700! Richard served on our Board for 5 years and has been a team sponsor as Deeth & Company for 15 years.

Richard never asks us for anything and is wonderful to work with as a team sponsor, he is usually in good spirits since he hits so well... He's someone you should try to get to know because we are lucky to have him in our league. Thanks for all you do for us Richard!

Moose
Moose (Mike Wright)
Now in his 22nd season at only 56 yrs old, the Moose is hovering around the .500 mark. Mike was voted Oldtimer of the Year (Willard Pilatzke Award) in 2008 along with the Warner Thomas Award for Captain of the year. Can't say enough about this guy - we love him forever. Moose co-captained a team with Bobby Lancaster during my rookie season 15 years ago and did a great job of it too. Back then he was good for a HR per game and third basemen would back up to the grass. He was also an integral part of the Judge & Jury tournament team 10 to 15 years ago.

Good to see good people like Mike live on in our Hall of Fame. Thanks for making BOSL so much fun for me.

John Andersen
John Andersen
John became a Director in 2010 and has been managing our League's jerseys and equipment ever since. He's taken old bats home and re-gripped them himself. He would mend the broken bases until we need new ones and makes sure the home base plates are not falling apart each season. John looked after the details like league bat certification and has been a discipline director for years as well. He's a fun and fair team captain and a threat at short stop and always a 700 hitter. John is very good at helping the new players find their swing - a good coach.

We should call him Mr. Baseball because he does it all for us as a volunteer. This is John's 19th season with us all and I believe this could be his last. Another of BOSLs best people - thanks for being a team Captain again John and for all the hard work you do for us all - it doesn't go unnoticed!!
