Top Chef Charity Dinner
Feb 28, 2019

The “Gift” team has been busy expanding our fund-raising efforts and will launch our first ever charity dinner on Feb 28, 2019No sorting food cans at this event!!

It is our first inaugural "Top Chef" evening for the Burlington based, Gift of Giving Back run jointly with Burlington Fire.

As you know, the Gift of Giving Back is a Burlington registered charity focused on teaching and empowering youth to give back to their community and among other initiative use a food drive as its core engagement and tactic to raise local empathy. The Gift of Giving Back is now Canada's largest community food drive and helps a dozen agencies serve their needy clients across the region including the Burlington Food Bank, the Salvation Army, Food for Life, the Carpenter Hospice, the Halton Women’s Shelter, the Kerr Street Mission, and the Compassion Society.  We are all volunteers and work very hard to deliver help to these agencies.  We have raised well over 3 million pounds of food in the last few years to help the needy in our community as well as inspiring thousands of young people to care about those in need.

Our Burlington Firefighters have partnered up with the GOGB volunteers to bring Burlington an excellent evening focused on good food and celebration of community compassion. Fire Chief Dave Lazenby is our Honorary Chair.

Dinner will be an excellent 4 course meal from delicious recipes submitted by innovative firefighter chefs. Meals will be prepared by the chefs at the Burlington Convention Centre and guests will have an chance to vote on the BEST courses based on the submitted firehall recipes, to name the TOP CHEF. A live and interactive auction for 300 guests will provide for an engaging and delicious evening.

Lauren, The Auctionista is a Philanthor-tainer who provides interactive entertainment while facilitating the live auction. She will bring a captivating, entertaining & high energy, performance- based live auction to our inaugural event.

Tickets are on sale now for $99/ each. Or a table of eight for $750. There's a donation tax receipt for $25 from each ticket and all proceeds will go directly to the Gift of Giving Back to continue the mission of helping to feed our community and educate youth on the gift of community service and compassion.

Burlington guys - senior golf group
January 30, 2019

I played in the BOSL and refereed in the BOHC for about 15 years before moving to Brantford, two years ago. I now look after membership for the Skyway Seniors Recreation Club. Our Burlington based club golfs at the Cambridge Golf Club every Wednesday morning from mid April to end September.

We are currently seeking spares or potential full time members to replace foursome members who are retiring from the game. I would appreciate it if you could put an add on your website. We are seeking players who have at least attained the age of 55. Some of our golfers are founding members who joined 30 years ago and they are now in their 80's. If anyone is interested  they can contact me via email or by phone at 289-259-3979 and I will provide details.

The Cambridge Golf Club treat us very well. Last year we payed $42.00, which covered green fees and a cart. I thank you in advance for your assistance.
